12.01.10 - Christmas blankie

Aaron gave this blanket to me on the first Christmas we were matched together in Topeka. It comes out each holiday season. It's a favorite with Harley, then Maddie and now Nate.

06.19.10 - Uncle Aaron

Nate met Uncle Aaron for the first time today! Aaron and I were matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in 2003 and saw each other weekly until he moved to Cincinnati in 2005. He comes back to Topeka at least once a year to see family and I make it a point to make the short drive up the turnpike to see him. (And because we have family in Cincinnati, I've visited him there a couple of times.) This year, I made the trip with Angie and kids. Maddie was near meltdown mode so we decided to let her run around the kids' indoor play area at the mall. After that, we followed it up with dinner at Sbarro's in the food court. It wasn't as good as the Glory Days Pizza we used to share, but was good times nonetheless.
