07.31.10 - Familly reunion fun

Nate reunites with Gramma Karen poolside at the Scheer Family Reunion today in Kansas City, Mo. Now, who'd have thought that we could find Gramma Karen at the pool?!!

07.30.10 - Fireworks!

Nate went to his first Royals game tonight. And, like a true Royals fan, he really only cared about the free fireworks!

07.29.10 - Another Target fan

Stocking up on a few supplies for our road trip tomorrow, Nate sits up in the Target cart for the first time!

07.28.10 - Who wants to go first?

Maddie was a little unsure about what was in store for her at her 18-month checkup with Dr. Green today so Nate got his shots first while Maddie and Mommy waited in the hallway so she wouldn't see him cry. Of course, Nate being the mellow dude that he is, didn't even cry until the nurse was done giving the third and final shot. And then he stopped as soon as I picked him up. Maddie, on the other hand, whaled and it didn't even matter that she hadn't been in the room at the same time as her brother.

07.27.10 - No pizza, need sleepy!

This is not our kid because neither of us would ever sleep through a Pizza Hut outing!

07.26.10 - Sitting up like a Big Boy!

Nate's finally got the hang of sitting up although he occasionally will face-plant the floor, he does so very gently as he tries to catch himself.

07.24.10 - Zoo trip

While I was busy working the bridal fair at Century II, Aunt Tiffany came over and went with Naters (and Maddie and Mommy!) to the zoo! They had a great time.

Tiffany, thanks for spending part of the day with the kids while I was away!

07.23.10 - Rubber ducky, you're the one!

You make bath time so much fun!

Nate has graduated from the kitchen sink to the ducky bath tub!

07.22.10 - Brother and Sisters

In our house, we don't say cheese. We say "big smile" except for Harley, who says, "cookie!" Can't wait to see what Nate's "big smile" looks like!

07.21.10 - Aunt Tiffany

Aunt Tiffany, Nate's godmother, is in town for a few weeks (she's a teacher in Florida) and came over for dinner and a visit tonight. I'm not sure who's more in love with him - us or her!

07.20.10 - Lips

Nate recently discovered his bottom lip. It tastes like applesauce!

07.18.10 - Baby blues

Nate went swimming for the first time today but never mind those photos. Check out this snap Angie made while drying him off. Aren't those eyes stunning?

07.17.10 - Tickle me, Maddie!

Maddie and Nate entertained themselves tonight while mommy was away playing Bunco with the girls. Shortly after this photo, Nate took a bottle and fell right to sleep. This will be easy, I thought. Nearly one hour, two diapers, a few hugs and several books later, Maddie was asleep, too.

07.16.10 - Nate's big smile

Angie coaxed this smile (and photo) out of Nate tonight. Yup, he's a keeper!

07.15.10 - Nan and Pop's toys

We spent the evening at Nan and Pop's house because our AC decided to go out. It was probably good to play with some different toys for awhile.

And the air was on the next day.

07.14.10 - Hey, look at me!

If you could hear him "talking," that's probably exactly what he was saying! A few more weeks and perhaps we'll get mom's arm out of the picture!

07.13.10 - Fountains

After dinner, Angie had the great idea to take the kids to play in the fountains at NewMarket Square. Maddie's been into water a lot lately (click here, here or here) but Nate hasn't really had the chance to experience it. Mostly he just watched but Angie did hold his feet over the water. He didn't know what to think but at least he didn't hate it.

07.12.10 - Spit ball

I think this was originally Harley's toy though she never played with it. She passed it down to Maddie, as you can see here. Occasionally, Nate gets to play ball, too!

07.11.10 - Baptized

Nate was baptized by Father Mike between Masses at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church this morning. Several members of our family came to witness the special event including my friend, and fellow photographer, Kelly Glasscock who photographed the event for us. And a special thanks goes out also to Grampy Keith and our friend Tiffany for being Nate's godparents!

07.10.10 - Take me out to the ballgame ...

Thanks to Nan and Pop for giving us free tickets, we took Nate to his first baseball game tonight. The Wichita Wingnuts beat the Grand Prairie Air Hogs 11-3. Of course, it was only 3-2 when we left but it was well past the kids' bedtime. We made it through four and a half innings, though, which counts as an official game. Go 'Nuts! (And Go Nate!)

07.09.10 - Feed us now!

We got home late from work tonight and the kids were beyond hungry!

07.08.10 - All my sister's toys

Nate spent the evening playing with Maddie's favorite toys. He even played with Snuggly Bunny for awhile until she ripped it away from him. So, he chewed on this duck instead!

07.07.10 - Guard dog

Harley steps between Nate and I as I tried to take his photo tonight. It's as if she was saying, "No pictures!"

While sitting with me on the sofa today, Nate grabbed my ball cap so I let him wear it. We all thought it was pretty funny! This photo reminds me of a similar scene with Maddie at about the same age. Click here to see it.
