Nate's discovered the canned goods just as his sister did. I'm guessing the can tastes better than the cream of mushroom soup that's inside it.

09.26.10 - Uncle Mike

Nate nearly jumped out of Grampy Keith's arms to meet Uncle Mike at a benefit luncheon today in Walnut, Kan. Check out this post on our other blog to find out why we were there.

09.25.10 - Exploration Place

We went down to Exploration Place today as part of the Smithsonian's Museum Day, which offered free admission to museums nationwide. Maddie enjoyed running all over the toddler play area and Nate was just generally overwhelmed by all the activity!

09.24.10 - Gimme a push, Maddie!

While I was busy taking pictures, Nate's swing came to a stop. So, Maddie reached over and gave him a little push. Despite the devilish look, she really was being nice!

09.23.10 - Storytime with Nan

Nan and Pop, along with Gramma Karen and Grampy Keith, came over for dinner tonight. Before we ate, Nan read a story with Nate.

09.22.10 - Sky high

Nate enjoys being outdoors on the last day of summer. All too soon it will be dark before we get home from work. It even felt a little bit like fall today.

09.21.10 - "Wah!"

Maddie is learning more and more words. Lately she's been saying "apple joo," "boddle," "wadder," "pee (please)," and "wah (walk)." Mom wanted to stay home to watch the season premiere of "Glee" so I was only going to take Maddie. As soon as Maddie and I headed for the door, Nate looked at us like he was going to cry and then started scooting toward us! Anyway, this time last year, I made a very similar photo to this scene. It's amazing how fast they grow up!

09.20.10 - Cookies

Nate chomps on a cookie following dinner. Maddie had one, too, until Harley stole it.

09.19.10 - Privacy, please

As soon as I walked in to photograph bath time, Nate covered himself with an octopus.

09.18.10 - Daddy's birthday

It's my dad's birthday, yay!

09.17.10 - Grandma's gonna getchya!

Grandma and Grandpa Shepherd came over tonight to watch the kids while Angie and I went out to celebrate my birthday. I don't know who's more excited!

I know of a few chicks, including Gramma Karen who, tonight while watching the kids at Nan and Pop's house, said that Nate is so perfect his poop doesn't even stink!

09.13.10 - Bonk!

Nate crawled under the table tonight and then bonked his head. He was fine, though; it hurt me more to climb under the table to console him.

09.12.10 - Bedtime stories with Maddie

Nate is beginning to take an interest in books and since reading is one of Maddie's favorite things to do, it only seems right that we read a couple of stories with them together before bedtime. Maddie still gets a story read to her in her room before she gets tucked in.

09.11.10 - Wakin' up happy

Nate wakes up happy from his afternoon nap. In fact, we ALL woke up happy from our afternoon naps. ;)

09.10.10 - Milk drops

09.09.10 - He crawls!

We got home from work today and right away Grandma Shepherd told us that Nate was sooooooooooooo close to crawling. About ten minutes later, Nate crawled across the floor to get one of his sister's shoes! Later, he crawled into the kitchen.

09.08.10 - It's 4 a.m., do you know where your children are?

Yeah, he's sitting up in his crib for the first time!

09.07.10 - Lettin' it all hang out

Well, maybe not all but we certainly thought it was cute that Nate was sleeping with his feet hanging out the side of his crib.
