06.20.10 - Happy Father's Day, Dad!

06.19.10 - Uncle Aaron
Nate met Uncle Aaron for the first time today! Aaron and I were matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in 2003 and saw each other weekly until he moved to Cincinnati in 2005. He comes back to Topeka at least once a year to see family and I make it a point to make the short drive up the turnpike to see him. (And because we have family in Cincinnati, I've visited him there a couple of times.) This year, I made the trip with Angie and kids. Maddie was near meltdown mode so we decided to let her run around the kids' indoor play area at the mall. After that, we followed it up with dinner at Sbarro's in the food court. It wasn't as good as the Glory Days Pizza we used to share, but was good times nonetheless.

06.16.10 - My new friend
Nate made friends with Jayden, a cute six-year-old who was visiting family who are neighbors with Nan and Pop, while he and his sister hung out at their house while Angie and I could attend another Love and Logic parenting class. Jayden was playing outside with everyone when we arrived. After we went inside the house we though Jayden went home. The next thing we knew he popped his head up from behind the kitchen counter and walked in the living room like he owned the joint! Since he liked Nate so much, I insisted that we get a photo of them.

While Angie and I attended our first "Love and Logic" parenting class tonight, Nate and his sisters hung out with Nan & Pop and Gramma Karen & Grampy Keith. After dinner, it was a beautiful night for a stroll!
