03.31.10 - Nice night for a walk

The unpredictable Kansas weather went from winter to summer in less than two weeks so Nan and Pop invited us over for dinner tonight. Really, I think Nan just wanted to take Miss Maddie on another ride around the lake. :) That's Nan pulling Maddie in the garden cart and me driving the stroller with Nate, who was awake the whole time! Poor Angie, she got stuck on pooper scooper duty.

03.30.10 - NateTV

I'm not sure what we were watching, or if Nate could even really see the TV from that distance, but he sure looked as though he was into it. I'd like to think it were a baseball game but I know better than that.

I borrowed a lens from Nikon and thought I'd try it out on Nate today. The jury's still out (on the lens, not the kid!) so I guess I'll have to snap another photo tomorrow!

03.23.10 - Workin' on tummy time

We're beginning to work with Nate on tummy time. He can't quite lift his head while lying on a blanket but he sure can lift it if he's on your shoulder.

03.22.10 - First time to dine

Maddie went to Pizza Hut her first eating out experience so it's only fitting that Nate experience it, too! And what better place to go when you've had a long day and just don't feel like making dinner? Ok, maybe lots of place. But our place is Pizza Hut. Breadsticks with cheese, please!

Mom, wouldn't it be nice, if just one time, K-State went farther than KU in the NCAA Tournament?

They did, Nate! They did! KU lost to Northern Iowa today before K-State defeated Brigham Young to advance to the Sweet 16!

I'm not sure the context for this picture. Angie snapped it while I was working. I'd like to think it's Harley standing guard over her little brother. In reality, she's probably saying: You can have this boppy when you pry it from my cold, dead paws.

Nate's tummy time pose looks like he could be doing the butterfly or breast stroke. C'mon, kid! You're supposed to like baseball!

Nate joined us in his swing for dinner tonight, where he watched (but hopefully not learned) how Harley begs for food.

03.15.10 - Cuddle buddy

The last thing I wanted to see when I got home from work tonight was Nate sleeping. He kept his Mommy up until 3:00 this morning and I was fearful of another long night if he slept all day. But, curled up all cute next to Harley like that ... well, would you have woken him up? I didn't think so!

03.14.10 - A lazy Sunday morning

This morning, I hung out with two of my four favorite people while reading the newspaper. No baby, boppy or Beagle (sorry, Eagle friends!) is gonna keep Harley off our laps!

03.13.10 - Bunco boys

Nate hung out with his new buddy, Cohen, tonight while Mom hung out with her Bunco babes. The "girls only" club is being infiltrated by boys. First, Matthew. Then Cohen. Now Nate. Sounds like it ought to be baseball instead of bunco!

Not the photo we'd hoped for today because everyone fell asleep by 8 p.m.! Well, everyone except me. I very quietly rooted for K-State to pull away from Baylor in the Big 12 Tournament and, as usual, finding myself burning the midnight oil.

Nate's perfectly content on his changing pad following a diaper change although it does look like he's about to flip me the bird!

Grandma and Grandpa Shepherd came over for dinner tonight. These two can really be an armful but Grandma Shepherd didn't mind!

03.05.10 - Makin' the rounds

Nate paid a visit to the med school today to visit some of our co-workers. Tyann, a colleague in the administrative and financial services department, was especially pleased to know that she got to meet Nate before Lisa, Angie's boss in HR, because she works from home on Fridays. To Lisa and others we weren't able to get to today, you'll be first on our list next time!

03.03.10 - Already a month

We can't believe that Nate's been with us for a month already. Just doesn't seem possible. Happy one-month birthday, little buddy!

03.02.10 - 2-in-1

I finally got a photo with both Maddie and Nate. He was minding his own business watching us prepare dinner when Maddie waddled over and tried to pick him up out of his swing. To her credit, I suppose, it was her swing before it was his!
