Airplanes on final approach to Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport often fly right over the Sedgwick County Zoo. While waiting to go in today, Nate spotted at least three airplanes overhead. And if you look closely, you can see Maddie reading her map. She knows how to make her daddy proud! Of course, Nate and Tommy do, too!
We start each birthday morning with birthday bagels!
Nate opened presents from Mommy and Daddy right after breakfast. He was excited to get another "Pookie" book.
Angie outdid herself in making his cake. Nate requested a "chocolate Bob cake," so she bought a Bob the builder figurine on eBay and used one of this construction vehicles to make the cake look like a job site.
I made a few road signs to round out the decorating.
When Grandpa Greg comes over, he always gives each of the kids a dollar. So, all week long we worked with Nate so that he could string together a sentence when he saw him at his party. "Greg, give me dollar for mah bank ... peas!" Grandpa Greg gave him $20!
We also worked with him so he'd know how to sing "Happy Birthday." He really liked everyone singing it to him!
Nate read stories with Pop tonight. At one point, he reached up and wanted to wear his glasses. He looks better with glasses than his dad did as a kid.
Nate enjoyed seeing the big Christmas tree at Bradley Fair tonight while standing in line for free carriage rides. It's become one of our Thanksgiving weekend traditions.
